MWANAMVEKA AND BRIGHT MALOPA FIRED!

Reports’ reaching us from the Malawi capital indicates that Mr. Bright Malopa and Mr. Mwanamveka have been fired by the President Joyce Banda. These two are the second casualties to be fired by the country’s leadership just few days after the President took power of the central
African state. Mr Mwanamveka was appointed by the late Bingu wa Muthalika as the secretary to the Treasury while Bright Malopa was the Director General at the Malawi Broadcasting Cooperation.

In exercising the power invested on her as the country’s State President, Her Excellency has instead appointed Mr. Benson Tembo as the new Director General at the Malawi Broadcasting Cooperation and Mr. Radson Mwadiwa as the new Secretary of the Treasury.

Before their appointments, Mr.  Benson Tembo worked at the same Broadcasting house where he rose to various positions before he was sent to a diplomatic assignment by the Muluzi Administration. At MBC, Mr Tembo brings with him the vast experience of Broadcasting, leadership and professionalism as a veteran Radio broadcaster. Mr. Mwandiwa however once worked in the same office as the Secretary to the Treasury before he was demoted and replaced by Mwanamveka by the Muthalika administration.

However in another development, the Central Bank Chief has been suspended and the currently the Deputy Governor Mrs Mary Nkosi has taken over the mantle of leadership. Mrs Nkosi who deputised Ligoya becomes the first female Central Bank Chief in Malawi. Another sudden sacking has been of the Patricia Kaliati who was the DPP information minister who has been replaced by the hope alliance spokesperson, Moses Kunkuyu.
