THE WORRISOME AND UNMALAWIAN BEHAVOUR OF SOME DPP MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT

The reports that some DPP members of parliament and their Executive Committee are abandoning the party even before the late President Muthalikas body is brought back to Malawi is sad, cruel, politically dangerous, selfish immoral and a political madness of the highest order. The DPP father and founder, the late President Bingu wa Muthalika died last week and  normally as Malawians, DPP Members of Parliament were suppose to be mourning the death of the President. However what Malawians are seeing and hearing is shocking and hard to understand that some DPP Members of Parliament in their crude wisdom have taken this mourning period in Malawi as a time to jump ship and declare their royalty to Her Excellency’s PP government. It is good to openly declare their allegiance but the only problem has been their unmalawian way of how they have handled this whole thing. In this brief article I want to show that what these MP have done is wrongly whose main agenda is personal enrichment. In this regard, I have put down three main points to argue my case.

Hypocrisy and political madness

These members of Parliament have demonstrated first class hypocrisy and political madness of the highest order since independence.The Peoples’ Party young as it is must be careful in the way they handle and accommodate these opportunists’ members of parliament because they are full of hypocrisy and are politically dangerous. These are the type of human beings who can not be trusted in any way. They need to be kept in their own world and not associated with those in the party because they are hypocrites full of political madness. Imagine these are Members of Parliament who weeks ago were regarded as faithful and royal members of the DPP and they made everybody else believe that they could be trusted. Wherever the late President Muthalika is, must be shocked at seeing the true colour of these Members of parliament. Now the Peoples’ Party should know that hypocrisy demonstrated by these members of parliament is the disease of the heart and what we have seen them doing is what they are made up of. This means that they are the type of people who exist to only think of their own selfishness and have not time to think about the nation and other people. This is political madness and they are playing a dangerous political game which if PP is not careful they will be the next victim of these MPs. This means that even in parliament they will not be trusted because if they can abandon their own funeral where their leader has died then they will as well be able to play games and tricks in parliament to satisfy their own selfishness.

They are a political scandal and a political shame

These DPP members of Parliament are a political shame and what they have done is the unbelievable political scandal. This is a political scandal because what they have done, abandoning their party even before their leader is buried. These MPs have brought political shame on themselves as individuals and also on their families because their action is unmalawian and cruel. They have abandoned maliro and opted to jump ship when they infact were suppose to be busy helping on logistics and others as they await the burial of their leader who passed on. What surprises many Malawians is the timing of their action that they have demonstrated lack of wisdom because they have failed to do the right thing during this crucial time. If these MPs were human enough they could have waited until all the funeral activities are over then they could have decided to leave DPP and not this time when the party is mourning. With this therefore, PP as a party need to be very careful because these DPP MPs who are jumping ship now are very dangerous people who are heartless and care less about anybody but their own selfish gains.

They should not be entrusted with any political power

Due to this poor unMalawian behavour these MPs should not be given any political offices in the PP government because they have a silence policy of using a party and dump it when in crisis. If PP government accommodates these MPs then they should just know that they are digging their own political grave because these MPs will never be there for PP during crisis. Just as they have abandoned DPP even before Muthalika’s body is flown in the country, these MPs will likewise abondon PP in future because they have a crazy pattern of political life. If it comes to the worse these MPs should only do their job within the four wall of parliament and not be involved in the serious business of party politics because they can not be trusted.
